Are you strong? Caring? Welcoming and energetic? Activate your limitless potential as the Camp GOTR Intern for Spring/Summer 2026! Camp GOTR is a new offering from Girls on the Run Memphis, a nonprofit offering confidence-building lessons to the next generation of women leaders using a fun and creative curriculum incorporating mental and physical wellness practices. We want you! But, they need you. 

Camp GOTR combines what everyone loves about Girls on the Run with all the fun of camp! During this week-long session, 3rd – 5th grade girls with and without disabilities will enjoy building friendships in a fun and inclusive setting that includes interactive games, being physically active, and expressing creativity through arts and crafts and storytelling. Led by caring and qualified Girls on the Run coaches, Camp GOTR provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for girls to develop self-confidence, have fun with friends and learn life skills they can use now and as they grow. The Girls on the Run Camp GOTR Intern is responsible for management of the Camp GOTR program, including pre-camp logistics, camp management and post-camp wrap up.

Responsibilities:

This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

Program and Host site Management

  • Manage host site recruitment and ongoing partnership

  • Manage Camp GOTR participant recruitment and registration process

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Camp GOTR regarding questions, risk management issues, etc. 

  • Conduct post-Camp evaluation 

Coach Recruitment and Management

  • Complete Girls on the Run National Coach Training

  • Manage recruitment of Camp Coaches and ensure compliance with applicable trainings, certifications and risk management requirements as prescribed by council and Girls on the Run International

  • Ensure all Camp Coaches have a CPR/First Aid certification and have successfully completed a background check

  • Manage Camp Coach communications, scheduling and logistics

General Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the core values of Girls on the Run

  • Develop positive relationships with volunteers, community and staff

  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Program Manager

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  • 1+ years of youth programming or camp work experience

  • 1+ years of volunteer management experience 

  • Adapts quickly to a changing environment and can improvise when needed

  • Demonstrated organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to adjust communication style to fit each situation

  • Experience working with youth from varied backgrounds 

  • Able to work in partnership with camp coaches

  • Can inspire and motivate others to believe in the Girls on the Run mission

  • Serve as a role model for Girls on the Run

  • Develop positive relationships with parents/guardians, host site personnel, field trip contacts, and fellow GOTR coaches, volunteers and staff

  • Passion for empowering girls to reach their limitless potential!

This position is a part-time, with remote and in-person work requirements.
